Advanced woofer
Proprietary HEX suspension technology provides greater vibration amplitude with less distortion. However, longer voice coils were required to increase travel. Because of this, the AS diffuser was too heavy. To increase the sensitivity of the woofer, cutouts are made in the paper cone before gluing it to the aluminum membrane. Molded basket provides strength under load; a large magnet completes the design.

Custom BASH amplifier
All seven Varro models feature BASH technology. Amplifiers specially tuned for use in ELAC subwoofers with an input signal voltage monitoring system are able to withstand its maximum range. , providing all the necessary as well as additional power over the entire operating range of the woofers.

Auto-calibration and control from the application
Finding a place for a subwoofer can be difficult. They are often installed in corners or next to sofas. , which leads to reflections peaks and valleys in the frequency response. The ELAC auto-calibration system helps reduce the influence of the room on the sound by measuring the signal in the near field and comparing it with data for the far field (listening location). This allows the owner to place the subwoofer there where it meets all the requirements. All seven Varro models are compatible with the ELAC Sub Control 3 app. 0 and are equipped with an auto-calibration system to adjust the sound taking into account the characteristics of the room.
