With Personal Requests, Siri can recognize a specific voice and share information about that person from iPhone apps such as Messages, Calendar, Reminders, and Contacts.
Intercom Shares Information
With more than one HomePod in your home, you can communicate with your family members using the intercom feature. Ask Siri to send your message to the entire house or specific rooms, and everyone can respond. Intercom also works with your other compatible Apple devices, so you can send and receive messages via CarPlay while driving, on AirPods while working out, or with Apple Watch while running errands.
Designed to connect, set up and control with ease
It's easy to set up and stay connected from anywhere with the Home app and HomePod mini. Once you set it up, it'll automatically be added to the Home app, and you'll be able to instantly control any of your HomeKit devices with just your voice. HomePod mini can also act as a home hub, allowing you to remotely control HomeKit accessories, view a live view of your front door, close your garage door, and lock or unlock doors through the Home app.
Designed to protect your privacy
HomePod mini only listens to “Hey Siri,” so you can talk freely, knowing that nothing you say is sent from your home until you activate Siri, either by touch or by saying "Hey Siri." When you ask Siri for something, your request is associated with a random ID, not your Apple ID. With support for HomeKit Secure Video, HomePod mini can analyze streams from supported video cameras to detect the presence of people and recognize familiar faces, pets, and cars. All video processing is done on the device before it's sent end-to-end encrypted to iCloud, so your recordings are only visible to you and those you share them with, not Apple. The speaker also works with your iPhone for requests like listening to your messages or notes.
