This Authentic Series replica of a 1937 D-18 stays true to the original with glue construction and historically accurate detailing.. This guitar has a real mahogany back and sides. Adirondack spruce deck as well as circa 1937 Authentic spacers. It features period-correct "18" design elements in Authentic style as well as authentic neck and heel as well as a new, more accurate body profile this year based on dreadnought forms from the early Golden Era of Martin's history. Martin's VINTAGE TONE SYSTEM (VTS) is used to age the top and brackets which captures the tone of the 1930s era. Martin luthiers can recreate the pleasing visual aesthetics of a vintage guitar and reproduce special tones which were previously characteristic of ancient instruments.
