The resistance of the material to water pressure is expressed in millimeters of water (tested according to ISO 811 standard). The higher the pressure the more impenetrable the fabric is. A material with a water resistance of 2000 mm can withstand a water column pressure of 2000 mm - this corresponds to a two-hour downpour.
