Oil-based lubricants have their place but synthetic lubricants are gaining popularity, especially among racers who like to do it all. Rock N Roll's Gold Lube is the most versatile offering in their line and the middle of the three Rock N Roll chain lubes. It's not as thick as Extreme and not as thin like Absolute Dry. Gold grease uses a suspended gel membrane providing very smooth gear shifting in all conditions. This lubricant is suitable for both road for mountain bikers alike and is very easy to apply. Shake well wet the chain spin it back and wipe off dirt and excess grease. There's no need for that but before the trip it is better to let the chain dry for a couple of hours.
