The Perfect 10 years ago we approached our friends at Fender Custom Shop with a proposal: could they create guitars for us? combining the mojo of a true vintage reissue with modern tactile sensations and comfortable modern ergonomics? They were delighted with this idea and thus the Wildwood 10 was born. Thanks to the incredible craftsmanship and craftsmanship of the Custom Shop these guitars look great They sound amazing and play like butter. Each of these Custom Shop creations features a subtle '50s-style nitrocellulose finish which allows the resonant voice of hand-selected wood tones to shine through. They also have custom shop hand wound pickups that are sure to inspire you to reach new heights in your sonic journey. Wildwood 10s fit perfectly in the hands. Their modern 10" radius suits a wide range of styles and techniques , and their narrow-tall 6105 frets allow for less left-hand effort especially when bending strings. To top it all off They come with a limited edition Dealer Select Wildwood 10 hard case and a Certificate of Authenticity. Roasted and ready to rock now for something completely different! Let's talk about the effects of tonewood firing. When you expose a piece of wood to high heat, it depletes the wood and drier wood has many attractive qualities for guitarists! First, less water means less weight. That's why these fried rockers are easy on the back and the eyes. Besides charred wood is more stable. The most interesting thing about using charred wood is that how it adds a bit of vintage resonance to the overall tone of the guitar. When a guitar lasts a long time its wood dries out, and drier wood gives you warmer more focused, cleaner tonality that we guitar scribes often called "woody" for lack of a better term. Thus although these Roasted Wildwood 10s may not sound exactly like the Fenders of the sixties they do have a fair amount of vintage charm thanks to their woody chemistry!
