Broadway has been part of the Epiphone catalog since 1931 when its founder Epi Stathopoulo introduced the Masterbilt Archtop Collection. Inspired by his father Anastasios , who founded the original company called House of Stathopoulo Epi was determined to produce great sounding instruments from quality materials that would be accessible to working musicians - model which Epiphone follows to this day. Epiphone's original showroom on West 14th Street in Lower Manhattan was open to the top guitarists of the day such as Les Paul and George Van Eps which played a role in inspiring and shaping modern Broadway. Frame The fingerboard and headstock have multi-layer ivory and black binding. The headstock features a traditional "cut-ear" design with an original 1940s-era Epiphone "Vine" mother-of-pearl inlay. The tortoiseshell style pickguard features a metal "E" emblem.
