Audio-Technica AT-LP7 Manual Turntable Audio-Technica began operations in 1962 as a designer and manufacturer of high-quality phonograph cartridges introducing to the world of audio an innovative dual moving magnet stereo cartridge with superior channel separation extended frequency response and superior tracking. . The AT-LP7 builds on this heritage. Recognizing the critical role of the cartridge in reproducing high-quality sound from vinyl Audio-Technica developed this fully manual, belt-driven turntable based on the VM line of cartridges incorporating the best materials and designs ensuring high cartridge performance. The AT-LP7 comes with a dual moving magnet cartridge VM520EB , AT-HS10 head weighing 10 g and elliptical needle size 0.3 x 0 7 mil. This stylus can be replaced with any of six other styluses available in the VM line giving users the ability to easily upgrade their stylus without purchasing an entirely new cartridge. The head is attached to the J-shaped tonearm inspired by the classic AT models of the 1960s and 70s. The tonearm features a metal gimbal and precision bearings to reduce tracking errors and also includes an adjustable counterweight and anti-roll system. Tonearm height can be adjusted from 0 to 6mm to accommodate a wide variety of cartridges. The turntable body is made from 40mm thick MDF (medium density fibreboard), an excellent vibration-absorbing material. which limits low frequency acoustic feedback. The anti-resonance disc is made of 20 mm thick polyoxymethylene and is driven by a touch-controlled motor which provides a constant, precise disc rotation speed of 33-1/3 or 45 rpm. The AT-LP7 also includes a built-in switchable phono/line preamp for connection to components with or without a dedicated phono input as well as a selector switch to assign operation to a moving magnet or moving coil cartridge.
