ARP 2600 comes back to life in one single production cycle. Now you have the opportunity to become the owner of one of the most sought after and desired instruments of the vintage synthesizer era.. This limited edition is a loving reproduction of the 2600 handcrafted in Japan and includes USB and DIN style MIDI connections XLR audio outputs as well as an improved ARP 3620 duophonic keyboard with added arpeggiator/sequencer. Even today, the ARP 2600 acts as a bridge between the individual elements of modular synthesis and the immediacy of a production/performance tool. A sufficient supply of envelope generators is included filter and amplifier - all the building blocks of analog synthesis. But ARP 2600 goes even further with a spring reverb and even a pair of built-in monitor speakers. Much of the versatility of the vintage modular system is also present including ring modulation, lag and voltage processors envelope follower, audio preamp, synchronized switch noise source, sample and hold module, signal inverters auxiliary module. mixer and even a set of parallel/multi jacks

David Friend's profile:

Co-founder of ARP Instruments Inc. along with founder Alan Robert Perlman. In addition to the development of ARP 2600 and Odyssey he participated in the development of many products and then moved into management eventually becoming the company's president. His achievements as an entrepreneur have also been recognized and in 2010 he received the Entrepreneur of the Year award (Emerging Technologies category) from Ernst & Young. After serving as President and CEO of Blue Archive Inc. he is currently the president CEO and co-founder of Wasabi and also lectures at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sloan School of Management. He is also an honorary member of the New England Conservatory and Berklee College of Music

Normal Paths

Almost every slider and switch on the front panel of the ARP 2600 is hardwired to a specific control source. For example Front panel controls allow you to control the pitch of Oscillator 1 using the keyboard (On/Off switch) Sample & Hold module output (slider) the shape of the ADSR envelope generator (slider) and/or the sine wave at the output of generator 2 (slider) and each to varying degrees. These wire paths provide a huge amount of immediate control which makes excellent use of everything the ARP 2600 has to offer allowing ARP 2600 to be played as is - without the need for patches. Inserting the patch cord into the connector in a truly modular way associated with any hardware control overrides that internal connection allowing you to create a new signal path of your choosing. To assist with programming, detailed panel graphics clearly show available signal routes

Unlike earlier modular synthesizers which relied on bulky connectors 6 3 mm (1/4 inch). and patch cords the ARP 2600 uses a more streamlined 3.5 mm (1/8 in) connector.
