Jack Casady prominent electro-rock bass player, worked closely with Gibson and Epiphone to create this stunning signature model. This is a long hollow body electric bass guitar , built around his vintage 1972 Gibson Les Paul Signature bass discovered in a hardware store in New York in the mid-80s. From now on Jack spent a lot of time working with a pickup designer from Epiphone creating a new humbucker for his signature model. Together they developed a passive pickup and control section which gave such a clear and natural sound that you have goosebumps. The pickup is a special low impedance model (JCB-1) which produces a bass sound which high impedance pickups and active electronics cannot match.

The body design is also very unique. This is not a true semi-acoustic or hollow body a hybrid combining the best of both designs. Under the bridge is a mahogany center block which adds sustain and helps combat feedback. This design allows the top to vibrate freely , giving the bass guitar a more natural feel wood tone.
